In 2022, in the context of current events, foreign language teachers may have the impression that another language will not be needed. Today there are great difficulties with tourism, study and work abroad. Connections with colleagues from other countries that existed before are being severed. This creates a sense of confusion, lack of understanding on what grounds to build learning another language today.
But all conflicts always end one day or another, and people keep on living. Education, being outside politics, always works with the future. With those who are sitting at the school desk today, with those who will be citizens of the twenty-first century country. And the twenty-first century is the age of communication, collaboration, and a time of a global view of the world. To build new relationships with other countries, we need English - by far the only tool for international communication in all areas of the economy and public life. And the bar in learning English cannot be lowered.
There are a lot of changes going on in English language teaching today: new documents appear, textbooks and studies are released, conferences and seminars are held, and new business solutions are brought to the market. That’s why we hold live streaming broadcasts monthly, hosted by our curators and guest colleagues.
Conference Rubrics:
1. SIMPLE — an introduction, as well as a digest of this month’s highlights in the ELT world;
2. CONTINUOUS — facts, and events that are happening right now in English language teaching. We will share the events in the world, Russia — where you can go, connect now;
3. PERFECT — the practical side of teaching, and how to make the classroom experience perfect for you and your students. We will show short videos with interesting practices, solutions (worldwide!) to pressing problems, and cool and unconventional ideas from practitioners;
4. ACTIVE VOICE — small informative, “catchy” interviews with different people from the ELT field. We need to hear the opinions of speakers from different settings/countries discussing the same teaching problem.
